Alice Mae Brown, 87, of Bowling Green and formerly of Perrysburg, passed away on July 7, 2023. She was born on March 5, 1936, to the late Howard and Anna Mae (Voland) Kohl.

DR. RUTH ROWLAND ALTENEDER

Dr. Ruth Rowland Alteneder, 89, passed away on June 28, 2023, surrounded by her children in her home. She was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on September 14, 1933, to Hannah Sandahl Rowland and John Rowland. She grew up in what was called the Highland area and graduated with honors from East Waterloo High School in 1951. She was active in high school, enjoying singing in the choir in the yearly Swing Show and holding class and student council offices. The University of Iowa was the next step in her education, graduating in 1955 in the first BSN class at the school of nursing. During her four years at U of I, she was elected president of the nursing students of Iowa and traveled to student conventions. She was inducted into Alpha Delta Pi social sorority, Mortar Board and Sigma Theta Tau, an international nursing scholarship organization. As an only child, she cultivated and sustained lifelong friendships from Iowa.

MARY MARGRET BARTZ (BODE)

Mary Margret Bartz (Bode), 81, passed away peacefully in her home June 28, 2023. She was born in Toledo, to Oscar Bode and Margaret Bode. She was an only child, and was the light of both of her parents’ eyes. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her late husband, Thomas Bartz.

PRISCILLA S. BADIK

Priscilla S. Badik, age 80, of Perrysburg, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born October 18, 1942, to George and Theresa (Domonkos) Gancsos in Toledo. After graduating from Waite High School in 1960, Priscilla worked as a receptionist for Siebold and Associates for 25 years, and later in life with ReMax Masters. She also was a volunteer at Hospice and the Stranahan.

•LARRY JACOB STUDER

Larry Jacob Studer passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Larry was born in Toledo, September 26, 1940. He grew up in Whitehouse, working on the family farm, and graduated from Anthony Wayne High School, where he was involved in band and was an active member of Future Farmers of America, both in the local chapter and at the state level. In 1956, he was elected to serve as sectional vice-president of northwest Ohio, making him the first to serve as a state officer from Anthony Wayne. After graduation, he went to North Central College, Naperville, Illinois, and earned a bachelor of arts in history. While at North Central, Larry met Miriam (Micki) Frasch in college choir and the two were married August 19, 1961 in Detroit.

Nicole “Nicky” Michele Hancock, 36, of Perrysburg, died as a result of breast cancer on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the University of Toledo Medical Center. She was raised by James F. and Michele Brown and born in Oregon, Ohio, on September 2, 1986, to Darrell A. Dusseau and Michele (Freeze) Dusseau.

•JAMES “JIM” EDWARD HODULIK

With a touch of wry humor and a heart full of reverence, we remember James “Jim” Edward Hodulik, known to some as Jimbo, Hud, Dad or Monkey. A resident of Maumee, Jim drew his last breath on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the age of 71, after a brave battle with complications from nonalcoholic liver disease at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

James “Jim” G. Miller, age 83, of Perrysburg and formerly of Northwood and Oregon, passed away at home on Sunday, June 18, 2023. He was born on December 14, 1939, in Toledo, to Ira and Elna (Stump) Miller. He was a member of the 1957 graduating class of Olney High School, now known as Northwood High School. Jim attended the University of Toledo, receiving both an associate degree in engineering and a bachelor’s degree in business.

Ralph Robert Henry, age 67, of Oregon, is finally free of pain after a long battle with liver cancer. He went to be with his cats and parents in Heaven on June 14, 2023, at 11:03 p.m., in St. Vincent’s Hospital.
