James Hart, beloved father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Perrysburg, on November 20, 2025. Born on August 21, 1949, in Toledo, Jim was the son of the late Ilene (Hanna) Hart and Charles W. Hart.

A graduate of DeVilbiss High School, the University of Michigan and the University of Toledo College of Law, Jim was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, empathy, generosity and love of Michigan football. Gifted with sound judgment and superior intellect, Jim practiced law for more than 50 years, during which time he constantly helped others navigate both legal issues and life’s challenges.

Left to cherish Jim’s memory are his daughter, Emily Catherine Hart; his sister, Janet (Hart) Sparks, and his wonderful nieces and nephews, including Robyn (Sparks) Veal; Charlie Green, JD; Chris Green, JD PhD, and Dr. Robert J. Mack, and their spouses and children, along with Bill Rexer and Madelyn (English) Rexer. Jim was predeceased by his beloved son, James Robert Hart; sister, Phyllis (Hart) Green, Ray Green and Robert Sparks.

The funeral will be held at Perrysburg First Church, 200 West Second Street, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, with a reception to follow.
