•LAURIE WILLIAMS YAUSSY PIGGOTT 07/29/1953 – 02/16/2024 Laurie Williams Yaussy Piggott passed in her sleep on February 16, 2024, at the age of 70, at her home in Spring, Texas, due to complications from COPD and multiple cancers. Her husband, Guido Piggott, was on hand and she had the great opportunity to visit with family and friends in advance of her passing.

Kurt Franck, vice president of newspaper operations for Block Communications Inc., owners of the Blade of Toledo and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, died March 15, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was 67.

On March 10, 2024, we said goodbye to a lifelong “True Perrysburger,” Richard Linn Steinline, who passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, at the age of 78. Rick was born February 12, 1946, in the old Perrysburg Hospital located at the corner of Locust and East Second Street, to Raymond and Dorothy (Feese) Steinline. He lost his father when he was six and was raised solely by his mother who never remarried.

Kathryn J. Woodward, age 76, went home to be with Jesus February 27, 2024. Kathy’s faith was the bedrock of her life. Her bright mind and love of reading and people fostered academic and professional success.

Donald A. DeCessna, 95, of Venice, Florida, retired judge from the Wood County Court of Common Pleas, and long-time lawyer in Perrysburg, died February 19, 2024 in Venice, Florida.

Our beloved mom, Sarah Ludick Turner, passed away peacefully and was received into Heaven on an uncharacteristically warm and sunny evening in March, five days before her 55th birthday. She was a skilled baker, a talented writer and a treasured art teacher, but more than anything, she was the best and most fiercely dedicated mom in the entire world. She felt that being a mother was truly her vocation. She was cherished by everyone around her: parents, siblings, cousins, friends, students and especially by her six children.

A caring and friendly conversationalist, she lived an amazing life blessed by three equally amazing children, Scott Spitler (Katherine), Overland Park, Kansas; Steve Spitler (Julie), Milford, Ohio, and Shelley Spitler Merz, Dyer, Indiana.

Kathleen Turner, 95, died February 17, 2024, in her residence. Previously of Perrysburg, she was living in Johnstown, Ohio, at the time of her death.

Robin Ann Eckel, 62, of Perrysburg, died in her home on February 15, 2024. She was born in Toledo on April 26, 1961, to Robert and Roberta (Reinbolt) Spanfellner. She was a 1979 graduate of McAuley High School and pursued a 30-plus year nursing career after attending Mercy School of Nursing. Robin married her high school sweetheart on August 9, 1986, and together they raised three children. She enjoyed animals, boating, camping, canning and gardening.
