Hargus Whitman, better known as “Chuck” or “Gus” Whitman to his many friends, passed away, Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the age of 91.

Chuck was born March 17, to Charles and Dorothy Whitman in Rising Sun, Ohio, and was a graduate of Woodward High School. Gus served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1961. When he returned home from the service he met his love, Glennda Clark. They were married and enjoyed a full life together.

Chuck was an avid sportsman, Corvette owner, loved to fish on the Great Lakes and in Florida, a great neighbor and great friend to many who knew him. He was a tool and die maker for several businesses in the Toledo area. That was his talent and job.

He is survived by his wife, Glennda; son, Craig (Ginger), and four grandchildren, cousins and nieces.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to St. Vincent’s for the compassionate care and support given to Chuck, Glennda and friends.

Chuck will be cremated, and his life will be celebrated with a memorial gathering by family and friends. Interment will take place at Lake Township Cemetery.
