Miriam (Micki) Louise Studer, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Otterbein Sunset House in Ottawa Hills. Micki was born in Detroit Michigan, January 12, 1940. She grew up in Detroit and graduated from Mackenzie High School, where she was involved in National Junior Honor Society, orchestra, choir and musical theatre. After graduation, she went to North Central College, Naperville, Illinois, and earned a bachelor of arts in music education. She and Larry met in college choir and the two began a life making beautiful music together. They were married August 19, 1961, in Detroit.

After college, Micki taught junior high music in Lyle, Illinois, until their first child, Diane, was born. Micki and Larry moved to Perrysburg in 1966 for Larry’s job teaching government at Perrysburg High School. They lived in Perrysburg until 2000.

While in Perrysburg, Micki served as the music director at Grace United Methodist Church from 1966 to 1976. In 1976, Micki and Larry became charter members of Perrysburg Alliance Church, where she served as music director until 1996. She directed church choirs and ensembles, played piano and organ, and with Larry, sang for countless weddings, funerals and other special events.

Micki taught private piano lessons for nearly 50 years to numerous hardworking students. She also was an independent beauty consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics, where she met and made treasured friends.

They retired to Stuart, Florida, in 2000, where they enjoyed exploring their surroundings. She and Larry were active in church choir, Bible study and fellowship groups. Micki loved the Florida weather, beaches and showing off the sights to all who came to visit, usually including a delicious meal at one of their favorite restaurants. While they were sad to leave their beloved Florida, they moved back to Ohio in 2019 to be closer to family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Larry; daughters, Diane (Gary) Russell of Omaha Nebraska, Sharon (Andrew) Ryder of Lynnwood, Washington, and Kathryn (Jason) Lankey of Maumee; eight grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; sisters-in law, Gail Perkins of Bowling Green, Karen (Doug) Mold of Swanton, and numerous cherished family members and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Bernice Frasch; sister, Barbara Frasch, and brother-in-law, Alvie Perkins.

A Celebration of Life gathering is being planned for spring 2023. Arrangements are being handled by Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Homes, Perrysburg.
