Margery Kramer died on December 25, at the age of 85, from complications due to Parkinson’s disease dementia. She was born in 1937, to Albert and Carol Pizer in Toledo.

Margery moved to Perrysburg with her five siblings in the 1940s and graduated from Perrysburg High School in 1956. She later graduated from the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing. As a registered nurse, Margery worked at St. Luke’s Hospital and Visiting Nursing Services.

Marge earned a master’s degree in nursing from the Medical College of Ohio in 1986. At the graduation ceremony she received the Best Master’s Thesis Award for her original research work on Relaxation with Guided Imagery for Terminal Cancer Patients.

After graduation she taught psych mental health nursing at Owens Community College for 10 years. During that time, she received the Outstanding Teaching Award and was well liked and highly regarded by all of her students. After retiring from Owens, Marge volunteered for the Child Advocate Program in Wood County.

She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren, gardening, cooking, traveling and being with her many friends. In 1978 she married Steven Kramer.

Marge is predeceased by her sisters, Patience Hill and Grace Bauer; her brothers, George Pizer and John Pizer, and her son, Brian Lewis. She will be missed by her sister, Kathryn (Kitty) Rogers in Michigan; her husband, Steven; children, Barbara Grace in Florida, John Lewis in Indiana; grandchildren, Sophia Wisdom, Emma Montez, Sarah, Hannah and Nathan Lewis, and two greatgrandchildren, Cecelia and Jaxon, as well as her many friends, including special friend Pamela Summons.

Marge was a member of the First Church in Perrysburg, and had a deep and fulfilling belief in God. In addition, Marge was a disciple of Sri Chinmoy and hosted their biennial International Peace Run Dinner in Perrysburg for many years.

Margery especially enjoyed traveling. She and Steven journeyed to many Caribbean islands and U.S. National Parks, as well as to Alaska, Canada, Europe, Africa, Mexico and a memorable trip to Niagara Falls with Sophie and Emma. After she and her husband retired, they vacationed for many winters in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the First Church in Perrysburg. Burial will be private. A memorial service will be held in the spring.
