Laurie Williams Yaussy Piggott passed in her sleep on February 16, 2024, at the age of 70, at her home in Spring, Texas, due to complications from COPD and multiple cancers. Her husband, Guido Piggott, was on hand and she had the great opportunity to visit with family and friends in advance of her passing.

Laurie was born July 29, 1953, in Perrysburg, as the youngest child of Art and Mary Williams. Laurie had three older brothers and a wonderful family life in her beloved Ohio. Laurie was a member of the National Honor Society in high school, an accomplishment she took great pride in as all of her brothers had done likewise. The Williams family valued God, family and education, as well as a great work ethic. These values were all instilled in Laurie at an early age, as she greatly enjoyed competing with her brothers. Laurie graduated from Ohio State with a BBA in accounting in 1975, and during her college years she was married to her first love, Robert Yaussy, in 1973. They elected to move to Houston, Texas, in 1978, to pursue their entrepreneurial spirit and a booming economy. This began a balancing act of starting her own family, pursuing her professional interests, being a loving wife and mother, and eventually owning a family business. This started with her graduation in 1981 from the South Texas College of Law with her J.D., her legal career specializing in family law, and oil and gas, her acquisition of a typesetting business and the birth of her three sons in 1985, 1988 and 1992. Her life was to change forever in 2009, as her husband, Bob, passed away unexpectedly.

In 2011, Laurie and Guido Piggott met online and began dating. Not unlike the Williams family tradition, their relationship was focused on God and family. Their focus was to blend family life in “Brady Bunch” style with her three boys and Guido’s two daughters and one son. Their goal as parents was to model what a spiritual, God-centered loving marriage looked like to their grown children. Their life was centered around Woodlands Church, with a focus on volunteer service and they most loved serving together. Over the years they hosted in-home youth retreats, served as greeters, served as Block Life leaders, attended mission trips to Honduras in back-to-back years, led a cooking team for Samaritan’s Purse, participated in Franklin Graham’s Decision America tour, served as Angel Tree leaders and led an in-home Bible study together for 12 years, and for the last three years, led a team that performed a weekly church service in two nursing homes. When not volunteering at church, Laurie’s passion was Ohio State Buckeye football and family get-togethers.

Unfortunately, death was a major factor in Laurie’s early life. Her mother passed away when Laurie was only seven years old. She also was preceded in death by her father, Art Williams, and stepmother, Thelma Wisebaker, all three brothers (Artie, Jimmy and Frankie) and her first husband, Robert Yaussy.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Guido (they celebrated their 12 year anniversary her last week of life); her three sons, Ross, Robby and his wife, Tori, and Ryan and Kalie Yaussy, with their three children, Scarlett, Brooklyn and Evie; her stepson, Chris Morris and his wife, Danielle; her stepdaughter, Kelly Haddox and husband, David, and grandson, Remy Yaussy; her three in-laws, Eugenie Williams, Merideth Trovato and Susan Piggott and Michael Tooke. Her beloved cousins include Liz Brown, Barb Gosnell, Dan Williams, Duane Williams, Bill Metford, Joanie Thompson, Judy Sherlock, Chris Drake, Jeff Williams, Sandy Williams, Greg Williams and Doug Williams. In addition, Laurie had a favorite niece, Melina Williams and her husband, Matt Anton.

Her Celebration of Life service will be held at Woodlands Church, One Fellowship Drive, The Woodlands, Texas, on Saturday, April 6, at 11 a.m., in the chapel. Pastor Dustin Reitzel will preside over the service with Pastor Mark Miller assisting. The family will host a reception at their home at 16211 Fox Crossing Lane, Spring, Texas, after the service.

Laurie has requested in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to her beloved Woodlands Church, One Fellowship Drive, The Woodlands, Texas 77384, In Remembrance of Laurie Piggott Memorial donation, or to Heart To Heart Hospice, 12345 Jones Road, Ste. 190, Houston, Texas 77070, In Remembrance of Laura Yaussy.
