•THOMAS W. SPECHT December 16, 1941 – November 6, 2025

Thomas W. Specht, of Perrysburg, died peacefully at the age of 83, on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Sylvania.

Tom was born and raised on the family farm in Gibsonburg. While attending Gibsonburg Schools during his youth, he was active in 4H, baseball, basketball and began his life-long love affair with classic cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Eleanor (Juergens) Specht; his older sister, Janet Mancinotti-Webb, and his companion of 24 years, Shirley Cannon.

After graduating from Gibsonburg High School in 1959, he attended Bowling Green State University and graduated in 1963. There he majored in business sales management, and became a proud member of Alpha Tau

After college, he married Donna (Schulte) Specht in 1964, and their daughter, Laura, was born in 1966. He also served as a private in the Ohio National Guard for several years.

Tom had a successful career in sales, specializing in men’s apparel. First, for Macy’s, as a buyer, then in sales for Farah, Levi Strauss and, most notably, Haggar Clothing Co. While there, his exceptional efforts and hard work culminated in being a four-time salesman of the year. In his many years of retirement he traveled, cared for his parents, enjoyed the stock market and served his ATO chapter on the board of trustees.

He is survived by his daughter, Laura Tassos (Alex); his granddaughter, Sarah Mootoo (Mikecarl), and great-granddaughter, Maeve, of Cincinnati.

Friends and family are invited for a memorial service at noon, on Saturday, November 15, at Masion-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee. Visitation is 10 a.m. to noon, prior to the service. Burial will be in Troy Township Cemetery in Luckey.
