James Arthur “Jim” Armbruster, 93, was called home to his Heavenly Father on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born March 22, 1928, to Carrie Petersen Armbruster and Carl Armbruster. In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Janet Rae (Barber) Armbruster.

Jim was a graduate of Bowling Green State University and served in the 3rd Armored Division of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He spent many years as a quality control engineer at Owens-Illinois. Jim was an active member of CedarCreek Church, leading and participating in numerous groups and mentoring countless young couples.

He enjoyed reading, fishing and having meaningful and thoughtful conversations with the people in his life. Jim loved spending time with his family and friends while camping on Manitoulin Island. He firmly believed that “You’ve got to give of yourself to others,” and he spent his lifetime doing just that.

Jim is survived by his children: son, Brad (Debbie); son, Mike (Kim), and daughter, Jamie. “Grandpa Jim” leaves behind six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Friday, June 25, at 1:30 p.m., at CedarCreek Church in Perrysburg.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be sent in Jim’s name to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 East River Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551, hospicenwo.org.
