Brenda Diane (Bokor), Solon, age 82, of Perrysburg, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2022.

She was born September 6, 1939, in Flint, Michigan, to Frank and Virginia (Sazy) Bokor. She celebrated 59 years of marriage to J. Thomas Solon of Wilmette, Illinois. They met on a blind date at Notre Dame University. She was a graduate of Loyola University, Chicago School of Nursing with a BSN. She was most proud of her work as a public health nurse in Cook County, Illinois.

Brenda and Tom moved to Toledo in 1968, where they raised their family. Brenda led a life of service and volunteer work, always helping ∏ others. She was a volunteer for Red Cross blood bank, Satellites MCO, Mobile Meals, OLPH school and parish, Central Catholic High School and St. John XXIII parish. She worked tirelessly as the president of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Toledo chapter. After raising her children, she re-entered the work-force as the volunteer coordinator of Mobile Meals, Toledo.

She will be deeply missed by her survivors; husband, Tom; son, James Solon, Ottawa Hills; daughters, Mary (Brad) Thomas, Perrysburg, Caroline Kennedy, Perrysburg; grandchildren, Grace Kennedy, Jude Kennedy, Olivia Thomas, Genevieve Thomas; great-granddaughter, Calee Coburn, and sister, Ginny (Joe) Lessard, Florida.

A Memorial Mass was held on Saturday, March 26, at St. John XXIII Church, 24250 Dixie Highway, Perrysburg. Interment will be private.

The family would like to extend gratitude to the Elizabeth Scott Community and Elara Care Hospice for their loving care.
