April 18, 1957 – May 10, 2025

Teresa Frick’s life adventure began on April 18, 1957, in Wauseon, born to John William and Marilyn Margot Bureau. She spent her childhood in Perrysburg, alongside her older brother, Mike, and younger brother, Ron. From a young age, she was quick-witted, fun-loving and a force to be reckoned with.

Teresa attended Kent State University and later continued her education at Bowling Green State University. During that time, she met Raymond Frick, and they began their life together. As co-owners of Fricker’s Restaurants, they weathered early challenges with hard work and resilience, eventually growing the business to more than 20 locations across Ohio, Indiana and Michigan.

While growing the business, Teresa and Ray were also growing their family. In 1991, they welcomed their son, Andrew, followed by their daughter, Amanda, in 1993. Both children are a testament to Teresa’s pride and devotion as a mother.

Teresa gave generously to the communities she called home. In Perrysburg, she served as township trustee president and held roles on two Ohio cemetery boards. After retiring from the restaurant industry, she transitioned from city life to country living— moving to a farm filled with animals. She had always loved animals; that love only grew stronger during these years.

As her children grew older, Teresa found herself with more time and chose to rejoin the workforce as a school bus driver—creating new memories while serving her community in a meaningful way.

In 2016, Teresa made the decision to retire for good and make her move to paradise— Naples, Florida. If you knew Teresa, you knew her true loves were sunshine, beaches and ocean breezes. Florida had always been her plan, and she quickly became a vibrant part of her new community. She volunteered at local schools, fostered dogs through two Floridabased rescues and held multiple leadership roles within her Island Walk community, including serving as president of the board of directors.

When she wasn’t giving back, you could find Teresa spending time with her dogs, on the tennis court serving up aces or hosting gatherings for family and friends.

Teresa carried a quiet fire within her that fueled her passions. She cared deeply for her family and friends, and about doing things the right way. She brought thoughtfulness to everything she did and had a gift for making even the smallest details feel important. She didn’t just push boundaries— she erased them. Her goal was always to leave a meaningful mark on the world and positively impact the lives of others.

Now we celebrate her extraordinary life, the incredible things she accomplished and the lasting legacy she leaves behind—she was truly more influential than she ever knew.

Teresa is preceded in death by her parents, John W. Bureau and Marilyn M. Bureau; her sister, Peggy A. Bureau, and her sister-in-law, Mary C. Bureau. She is survived by her children, Andrew R. Frick and Amanda L. Frick, and her brothers, Michel J. Bureau and Ronald W. Bureau.
