Roger Lee Perry, 81, Perrysburg, passed away November 2, 2023. Roger was born in Canton, Ohio, on May 22, 1942, to Jack and Florence Perry. He spent most of his youth in Point Place, with his foster parents, Harry and Mary Tingley. He graduated from Macomber High School in 1960 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1961. He was a corpsman attached to the 2nd Marine Division in Quantico, Virginia. Roger served on the Toledo Police force from April 1, 1968 until June 7, 1974, and also served with the Collier County Sheriff’s Department
in Florida. He belonged to the Local 886 Cement Masons and ended his career as a talented mason owning his own business, Perry’s Concrete.
Roger loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, hunter and boatsman. He loved to spend any chance he had on the water. He was a lifelong member of the Riverview Yacht Club, Maumee Eagles, the Commodore Club and the Point Place American Legion.
He is survived by his companion of many years, Jan Martin of Perrysburg; along with brother, Ron Perry of Naples, Florida; his daughters, Rene (Richard) Keyser of Naples, Krista (Mike) Cox of Spotsylvania, Virginia, and Olivia (Mitch) Morrin of Monclova; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He will be missed terribly by all who loved him.
A celebration of life honoring Roger will be held on May 22, 2024 at the Riverview Yacht Club, Point Place. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers the family requests that any donations be made to ASPCA or charity of choice. Π
