Janet L. Fenn, 86, of Perrysburg, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Perrysburg. Janet was born February 18, 1938, to George Merlin and Blanche (Carpenter) Sheldrick, and was raised in Perrysburg. She passionately served our country as a major in the U.S. Army. After retiring from the Army, she went on to be a teacher and ended her career as an assistant to Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn, a position that she held proudly for 13 years.
Janet was a member of the Perrysburg Civil Service Commission for numerous years and enjoyed traveling all over the world. She was an avid reader, and loved sewing and knitting special pieces for friends, family and charities. Janet also enjoyed playing the organ for special events.
Janet is survived by sisters, Mary VanDyke, June Jackson; nieces, Kristina Newman, Dawn (Don) Rumbutis, Melody (Bob) Helton; nephews, Russell VanDyke, Carl Lloyd (Tammy) Jackson, Andy (Angie) Jackson; greatnephews, J. Michael (Mallory) Newman, Jeremy (Breana) VanDyke, Justin (Breana) VanDyke, and great-niece, Nicole (Brandon) Landrum. She also is survived by grandnieces, Payton VanDyke, Kennedy Newman, Madeline Newman, Isla VanDyke, and grandnephews, Nash Landrum and Carter Newman.
Friends and family were received Sunday, February 16, from 9 to 11 a.m., at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, where a funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Burial followed in Fort Meigs Union Cemetery.
