Edward Emmett Devlin, passed away peacefully May 20, 2026, in Perrysburg. He was the son of John J. and Margaret (Gorman) Devlin, born April 6, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois. Ed attended DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois, earning a bachelor of science in commerce in 1961, followed by Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois, earning his masters in social and industrial relations in 1965. Ed pursued a storied career in human resources, starting his career in 1961 with Wonder Bread (Gary, Indiana), followed by positions with St. Regis Paper Company (Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin), Commodore Corporation (Omaha, Nebraska), Republic Steel (Youngstown and Cleveland, Ohio), Patrick Douglas (Cleveland, Ohio), and then started his own business, The Devlin Group (Hudson, Ohio), focused on executive coaching, counseling and outplacement services.
Ed married Marion (Russell) in 1961 in Chicago, Illinois, celebrating 56 years of marriage before Marion’s passing in 2018. Ed was preceded in death by his siblings, Dennis Devlin and Margaret Devlin (Nix). Ed is survived by his sister, Ann Marie (Lundstrom) of Arlington Heights, Illinois; daughters, Mary Devlin (Paul Bierbusse) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Patricia Devlin (Darryl Dreisbach) of Perrysburg; and grandchildren, Erin Bierbusse (New York, New York), Patrick Bierbusse (Newport Beach, California), Matthew Wunder (Perrysburg), Madison Owsley (Cody Carlson) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and McKayla Owsley (Perrysburg).
Visitation will be held at Saint John XXIII, 24250 North Dixie Highway, Perrysburg, on Saturday, June 20, from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
