Darrel W. Blevins, age 81, of Perrysburg, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at home, with his wife near his side. He was born on December 19, 1941, in Burdine, Kentucky, to Byron and Mabel (Oaks) Blevins. On February 1, 1975, he married the love of his life, Gretchen Lewis, in St. Louis, Missouri, and they celebrated more than 48 years of marriage together.
Darrel worked in various capacities over the years, including real estate. He later worked making plastics molds for then the Bulk Molding Company of Perrysburg, until he retired. He was known for being very sharp witted and having a photographic memory. He also was known for doing many home projects. He enjoyed music, watching movies on TV, especially Fox News, and playing pinochle with his wife and children late into the night. However, his greatest joy was his family; his wife, children and especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his loving wife, Gretchen, Darrel is survived by his children, Michelle Blevins of Toledo, Elizabeth Turner of Swanton and John (Diana Murillo) Blevins of El Paso, Texas; grandchildren, Adrian, Aiya and Shelby Turner; sisters, Fran Currier, Cherrell Coutcher, Madonna (Mark) Π
Hollinger; brother, Bobby Blevins, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William and Jerry Blevins, and sister, Sondra Braun.
Family and friends were received 4 to 7 p.m., with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m., Friday, March 31, at the Marsh and Marsteller Funeral Home, 110 Main Street, Luckey. A Funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 1, at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 East Front Street, Perrysburg. Committal was in St. Rose Cemetery, Perrysburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to Make a Wish Foundation or St. Rose Catholic Church.
