The Northwest Ohio Youth Rugby Club kicked off its inaugural season on Friday, April 9, at the Perrysburg Heights Community Center.
Twenty-four children participated in the training session.
The trainings run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and will continue every Friday until May 14.
When asked what he thought about rugby, Perrysburg Junior High seventh grade student Cruz Vasquez said, “I think it’s a fun sport to play. It’s probably one of the best sports I have played because is very easy to learn and the more kids that play the more fun you have.
“All the coaches have been amazing. They get involved and are very handson. I would encourage other kids to try it.”
