It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our dear Mother and Grandmother, Julia Gotwald Nickerson Brown, who was loved by everyone for her kind and caring nature. Julie was born on February 12, 1928, to Margaret and David Gotwald of York, Pennsylvania.

Sally A. Eward, age 81, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, on June 7, 1940, to Jack C. and Norma S. (Bishop) Johns.

Larry Lee Covert, 76, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on July 16, 2021. He was born on October 29, 1944, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Clarence and Modest (Cochenour) Covert. Larry graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1962. He obtained a B.S. in education from Bowling Green State University in 1967 and M.S. in management and rehabilitation from DePaul University in 1979. Larry married Faye (Greunke) Covert on August 20, 1966, in Elmore. They built a life together and raised their daughter, Jana, in Perrysburg.

Eleanor Harms, 87, of Columbus, Ohio (formerly of Perrysburg) passed away peacefully on March 4, 2021; her husband of 63 years, Eugene, by her side. Visitation will be held Fri Visitation will be held Friday, July 23, at St.

Betty Ellen Coger, age 93, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. She was born on July 10, 1927, to George and Luella (Hahn) Best, and was a graduate of Perrysburg High School. Betty loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. Her fondest accomplishment was visiting all 50 states. She was a member of numerous organizations including the VFW and Maumee Eagles.

Homer Canales, 77, of Walbridge, Ohio, died Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born in LaFerra, Texas, on January 15, 1944, to Amado L. and Olivia (Cantu) Canales. He graduated from Waite High School, Class of 1962. Homer married the love of his life, Emma Gonzales, on November 16, 1963, in Monroe, Michigan.

Hilda Mae Schmidt (Klotz), age 97, of Perrysburg, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2021, at the Franciscan Care Center of Sylvania. Hilda was born and raised in Helena, Ohio, and graduated from Gibsonburg High School. Her many loves included travel, reading, gardening, many friends, Grace United Methodist Church, but most of all her family. She will be remembered by many nieces and nephews, cousins and by her best friend since 1964, Gerry Bunte.

Barbara L. Oliver passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, June 20, 2021. She was born to Ralph L. and Thelma (Lindsey) Drake in Toledo, on March 17, 1932. On January 29, 1954, she married William Neil Oliver, who survives.

Russell William Heckman, 82, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2021. Russ was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Nancy Heckman.

David Paul Empie, 63, of Perrysburg, passed away June 24, 2021, at his home. He worked for many years at GM Powertrain, then went on to start his own awards and engraving business, All Star Trophy, for 11 years. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus No. 7978. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
