William Clement Batchelor Jr., age 83, formerly of Perrysburg, passed away on February 12, 2025, at the Royal Oaks retirement community in Dalton, Georgia. He was born on May 18, 1941, in Cincinnati, to the late William C. and Adelaide (Schroeder) Batchelor.
He received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Dayton and engaged in graduate studies at Northwestern University. Bill spent most of his career at Owens Corning, but also spent five years in Singapore and China with Computeried Security Systems, Inc.
Bill loved being surrounded by family, and he orchestrated numerous family vacations to Florida, Lake Michigan, the western United States, the Outer Banks, North Carolina and Hawaii, among others. He also enjoyed golf, tennis, dogs and bourbon.
Bill met the love of his life on the University of Dayton campus, while playing tennis, and he wed Mary (Stein) on July 31, 1963. They were inseparable during 61 years of marriage that epitomized patience, kindness, joy, charity and fortitude.
Bill is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Debbie (Andy) Hull, Bob (Shelley) Batchelor, Laura Batchelor, Lisa (Martin) McKinney; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
