August 5, 1966 December 9, 2022 Troy L. Sattler, 56, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022, in Los Angeles, California, where he lived with his two beloved dogs, Huck and Gracie.

Troy was born in Toledo Ohio, on August 5, 1966, to Thomas and Judith (Steward) Sattler. He attended Rossford High School, where he played tennis, was a member of the National Honor Society and served as both class president and student council president. He went on to earn his bachelor of science in business degree with a major in accountancy from Miami University, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, and where he met many of his lifelong friends.

After graduating, Troy began his career at his father’s accounting firm. He then moved to Chicago and went to work as a CPA at Ernst & Young and Deloitte & Touche. In 1998, Troy made the move to Los Angeles, where he was a partner at a boutique accounting practice before launching Sattler & Associates and Sattler Capital Management in 2002. He was a generous philanthropist, donating to the Human Rights Campaign and the Trevor Project, among many others. Troy was dedicated to keeping in touch with loved ones, always remembering birthdays and anniversaries. He enjoyed a very close relationship with his brother, Todd, and he adored his niece and nephew, relishing extended visits with them at his LA home. Troy loved his family, came home every year for family reunions and was close to his aunts, uncles and cousins. He truly loved the people in his life and the people in his life truly loved him. He was a kind soul, a trusted friend, and a confidante to many. Story after story has been shared about Troy, showing that if you knew him, he impacted your life in a positive way. While our hearts are broken, they also are full of love and memories that will live on.

Troy’s hobbies included spending time with family and friends, playing tennis, traveling and attending LA sporting events. Troy was an avid fan of the Buckeyes and all LA teams, especially the Dodgers, Lakers and Rams.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Judith Sattler. He is survived by his brother, Todd (Julie) Sattler; niece, Abby Sattler; nephew, Griffin Sattler, and uncle, William Steward. Troy also is survived by his sweet companions, Huck and Gracie, as well as many friends and coworkers whom he would say were just like family.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, January 20, at Grace Church, 601 East Boundary Street, Perrysburg, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life to be held at Belmont Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Human Rights Campaign or the Trevor Project, two organizations that were close to Troy’s heart.
