Rosalie “Rosie” (James) Koedam, age 76, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023. She was born April 27, 1946, at the Toledo Hospital, to RoseEmma and Orville James of Curtice, Ohio. She attended Jerusalem Elementary and Clay High School.

Rosalie retired from the University of Toledo Medical Center, formerly the Medical College of Ohio, in 2006. She was a past member and officer of “The Key to The Sea” Business and Professional Women’s Club, the Maumee Elks Lodge 1850, and a past member, for more than 40 years, of the Eastern Stars.

Rosie enjoyed working with stained glass, sewing and traveling. She especially enjoyed her euchre group of more than 40 years with lifelong friends, Twila, Petra, Mary Jane, Ginny, Dee K., Dee M. and Elaine.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and RoseEmma (Goodwin) James; infant brother, Robert Ellis James; sister, Patricia Garey; maternal grandparents, Edna (Fenn) and Clifford Earl Goodwin; paternal grandparents, Marie (Gruiser) and John James; aunts and uncles, Alice and Stanley James, Katherine and Ty James, Ervin James, Marie (James) and Warren Karchner, Hyacinth (James) and George Lantz, Muriel and Russell Goodwin, Roberta (Goodwin) and Louis Ruidisch, and Nancy and Richard Goodwin.

Rosie is survived by her husband of 60 years, Thomas F. Koedam, and their four children, Thomas Koedam II, James (Heidi) Koedam, Robert Koedam and Debra (Norm) Gyori, and sisters, Roberta Fulkert and Orleen Rice.

Rosalie was blessed with nine grandchildren, Ashley (Marshall) Carney, Nicholas Herroon, Chelsea (Brad) Rosebraugh, Dana (Chris) Jennings, Scott Koedam, Nash Gyori, Emily Koedam, Annabelle Koedam and Isabella Koedam, and nine great-grandchildren, Hazel and Scarlett Carney, Tinnley Herroon, Wesley and Keegan Hymore, Ellis Jennings, Henry and Luke Rosebraugh, and Charlotte and MaciJo Koedam.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Rosalie’s life with a memorial gathering at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Road, Rossford, on Saturday, March 18, from 2 to 6 p.m.
