Robert “Bob” Graham Palmer, 89, of Perrysburg, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025, at his residence. He was born on February 1, 1936, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, to Robert R. and Thelma (Graham) Palmer.
Bob graduated from Linesville High School in 1954 and then earned his bachelor’s degree from Tri-State University in Angola, Indiana. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1963.
In 1964, he married Sally Snow, who he met during his college years, and they went on to enjoy 61 years of marriage and raising three sons together. Growing up, Bob worked for his family’s business, the Palmer Feed Company in Linesville, Pennsylvania. He also fought forest fires when he worked for the U.S. Forestry Service prior to his college years. Bob later worked as a computer programmer and systems analyst for Libby-Owens-Ford for more than 25 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Zoar Lutheran Church in Perrysburg, and enjoyed playing in their church golf league with his friends, which they helped run as well.
Bob’s favorite things were golfing, gardening, woodworking, birdwatching and he was an avid reader. Bob was a man of few words. His family is going to miss his sense of humor, stories of his travels around the world and having conversations with him.
In addition to his loving wife of 61 years, Sally, Bob is survived by his sons, Andrew, Daniel and Joshua Palmer; granddaughters, Jenna Gurbal, Nora Palmer and Emma Palmer; greatgrandson, Owen Andrew Gurbal, and brother, William “Bill” Palmer. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Cecilia Sherretts.
Per Bob’s wishes, cremation will take place under the direct care of the Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Perrysburg. Private family memorial services will take place at a later date.
