Nancy Mae (Wyant) Hansen passed away unexpectedly on August 27,2024, at the age of 86. She was born on April 16, 1938, in Vincennes, Indiana, to Willard Lewis and Sylvia (Gilmore) Wyant. She grew up in Glasgow, Kentucky, and graduated from Glasgow High School, where she was class salutatorian and a proud member of the Scotties marching band and Beta Club. She was a lifelong Methodist, singing in the choir, acting as substitute organist and pianist, and active in Methodist Youth Fellowship.

She graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1959, with honors, and was a member of the Oak and Ivy Honor Society.

She worked as secretary to the dean of arts and sciences and office manager of testing and counseling at Indiana University, fiscal officer of Gateway Area Development District in Eastern Kentucky, church secretary at numerous churches and selfemployed accounting services for numerous businesses in the Toledo area.

She was an active Girl Scout volunteer in Morehead, Kentucky, and volunteered for 20 years at Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

She married Robert E. Hansen August 22, 1959. They had four children, Julia, Eric, Joyce and Linda, and lived in Kent, Sylvania, and Perrysburg, Ohio, and in Morehead and Bowling Green, Kentucky, over the course of their 62-year marriage. Robert passed away in 2021. Nancy was a homemaker who took great pride in her home and loved to cross stitch, bake and can the many vegetables that Bob grew in the garden. She had courageously battled leukemia at the age of 69 and was a loving caregiver to Bob, who had Type I diabetes for their entire marriage. She was an avid reader and liked to work jigsaw puzzles and catch up with family and friends by phone and visit with her neighbors.

Nancy is survived by her four children, Julia (Mike) Pasternak, Eric (Sherry) Hansen, Joyce (John) Hansen-Huber and Linda Hansen, DVM; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Betty Jean (the late Douglas) Moseley and Marcia (the late Lee) Clore.

Services for Nancy will be private. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, Perrysburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dr. Robert E. and Nancy M. Hansen Endowment Fund at Morehead State University (alumni.moreheadstate.edu), the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (jdrf.org) or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (lls.org).
