Mary Glenn Reams Haskins, 94, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025. Mary Glenn was born February 4, 1931, to Dr. Glenn Holway Reams, MD, and Margaret Edith Veitch Reams in Toledo. She grew up in Ottawa Hills and graduated from Duke University. Following graduation, she married John William “Bill”

Haskins Sr., who was an officer in the U.S. Navy; a licensed professional engineer at Westinghouse and the Space Radiation Effects Laboratory in Newport News, Virginia, and a professor at the University of Toledo. Mary Glenn had four children, and while in Virginia, earned a master’s degree in education from the College of William and Mary. In the 70s, she wrote a book on substitute teaching (published by Scholastic) called “Half Hour Notice.” She taught third grade in the Perrysburg Schools for 17 years.

Mary Glenn was married to Bill Haskins for 56 years, until his death in 2010. She was preceded in death by her son, John W. Haskins Jr., and siblings, Hugh Reams, Caroline Miller and Ted Reams. She is survived by her children, Benjamin Haskins, Barbara Bainter and Michael Haskins; daughter-in-law, Annette Haskins; grandchildren, Caitlin Bainter, Lisa (Mike George) Bainter, William Bainter and Catherine Haskins (Nigel) Pence, and great-grandchildren, Michael, Camila, Archer and Everett George. We miss her.

She will be interred along with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC. Funeral arrangements are entrusted with Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, Perrysburg.
