Marion Emily Berkebile, 89, of Perrysburg, passed away peaceably the night of October 29, 2024, at St. Clare Commons in Perrysburg. She was born on December 30, 1934, to Earl and Irene (McMurray) Paine.
Marion graduated from Whitney Vocational in 1953 and was employed by Allied Chemical in the accounting department. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and recipient of the Grand Cross of Color in 1953.
She married Karl Berkebile in 1956, and shortly thereafter moved to Perrysburg. After starting a family, she reentered the workforce in Perrysburg. You could often find her at Wilhelm’s Market working the register or you may have seen her on a large three-wheeled bicycle selling Fuller Brush. Many others would have known her as the school bus driver for either Perrysburg or Anthony Wayne schools. After retirement, she also greeted you at the Maumee Meijer’s store.
In retirement, she loved traveling with Irene and the dogs, in her RV. They checked off 42 states during their adventures.
Marion is survived by her children, Tom Berkebile (Lisa Hoverson), Irene Berkebile, and grandchildren, Austin Berkebile, Amanda (Jordan) Montes and Jonathan Rohrs.
Friends and family were received Monday, November 4, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo. Graveside services followed in Perrysburg’s Fort Meigs Union Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Condolences may be made online at wal terfuneralhome.com
