Josephine Knapp, 83, of Perrysburg, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.

Josephine was born December 11, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, to Wayne and Lucille (Clements) Hoffer. Josephine married Richard Knapp on December 30, 1967, and they shared 52 beautiful years filled with love and joy together until he passed on January 17, 2020.

Josephine graduated from Liberty Center High School in 1960. She went to nursing school in Lorain, Ohio, and worked as an L.P.N. for both Wood County Hospital and St. Luke’s Hospital. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family. She loved reading, history, watching Jeopardy, playing the slots and visiting and watching the horse races. Josephine was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and the Bowling Green State University Falcons. Her greatest love, pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She was fiercely loyal and protective of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Josephine is survived by her children, Erik (Darlene) Knapp and Michelle (Jeremy) Thomas; grandchildren, Cameron Meredith, Trajan Knapp, Alexis Robinson, Mackenzie Thomas, Olliver Knapp, Kaiya Thomas, Kasen Knapp and Addison Thomas; greatgrandsons, Odin and Aurelius, and cousins, Jan Hoffer and Suzy Barnes. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Hoffer.

Friends were received Thursday, May 8, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, where funeral services were held Friday, May 9, at 11 a.m. Burial followed at Highland Memory Gardens.
