Jean A. Scech, 91, a longtime resident of Perrysburg, passed away at 4:45 p.m., Monday, February 24, 2025. Jean was born in Olean, New York, March 4, 1933, to the late William and Mary (Grega) Cashimere. In addition to her parents, Jean also was preceded in death by her ex-husband of 40 years, Joseph J. Scech; brother, Paul Cashimere; sisters, Susan Noonan and Jean Skoda; brothers-in-law, James Henterly, Jerry Baker, John Jones, Charles Clarke, Eddie Havers and Leo Skoda, and sister-in-law, Peggy Cashimere.

Jean is survived by her children, Donna and Jim Monnier, Amy and Brian Velliquette, and Joseph and Keryn Scech; grandchildren, Tod and Laura Monnier, Erika and Aaron Bohman, Nick Monnier and Alex Scech; great-grandchildren, Sophia Monnier, Samantha Monnier, Robert Monnier, Lily Bohman and Theadora Scech; sisters, Marian Henterly, Ellen Baker, Rita Jones, Ann Clarke and Dorothy Cashimere, and brotherin-law, Leo Noonan. Jean led a very active and full life as a mother, office manager, educator and served on several boards in Wood County. Jean was an educator and principal in the Catholic school system. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Bowling Green State University. She also volunteered for many parishes and served eight years as president of the Perrysburg Symphony Chorale. Jean served on the Wood County Committee on Aging and the Toledo Harbor Lighthouse.

A private celebration of Jean’s life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. Rose Parish Cemetery in Perrysburg.
