Janis Marie Higbie peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, December 5. Janis was born on February 11, 1932, in Toledo Ohio, to Nelson and Zena Franklin. She was an only child and fell in love with the love of her life, Merritt, at Centennial Terrace, and they have been married for more than 70 years. She enjoyed working at Jacobsons in the bedding department for more than 20 years. She loved her family, friends, shopping and Hershey bars. They lived a wonderful life together in Toledo and eventually on Otsego Lake. Memories of skiing and summers on the lake with family and friends will be cherished forever. Merritt and Janis later relocated to Perrysburg.

Janis is survived by her teenage sweetheart and husband of 70 years, Merritt; daughters, Amy Tobias, Holly Higbie Orban (Lou); granddaughters, Carrie Kundinger (Chad), Lindsey Camargo (Fernando); greatgrandchildren, Addisyn, Jaxson, Luca; Liam, Coen and Vivian, and her beloved fur friends, Kenya, Bailey, Maizey, Cooper and Reese, along with many dear friends.

She will be missed and her memories will be held in our hearts forever.

Burial was at Toledo Memorial Park.
