Jane Kaiser, 83, of Perrysburg, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, with her family by her side.
Born in Cincinnati to Esther and Warren Rice, Jane grew up with her sisters, Betty Webb and Marilyn Rice. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Thomas Kaiser—her partner in every adventure and the love of her life.
Jane and Tom met at Ohio University, where she earned a degree in home economics. She later earned her teaching degree and went on to share her warmth, intelligence and creativity with her students and community. Tom and Jane built a beautiful life together filled with love, laughter and great friendships. They loved to travel—sometimes just the two of them, and other times with dear friends. They enjoyed many trips as members of the Lake Erie British Car Club.
Jane was a wonderful mother to Amy (Adam) Michael and Jeffrey (Kristin) Kaiser, and the proudest grandmother to Elise, Hadley and Cecilia. Her family was the heart of her world. She cherished every visit, every laugh and every simple moment together.
Those who knew Jane will remember her as a true friend—thoughtful, funny, and kind. She never forgot a birthday or holiday, always sending a card or note that made people feel special. She loved to cook, read and sip wine on the deck at the lake. She also was a master puzzler and spent countless happy hours crocheting baby blankets for family and friends.
Jane’s presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to bring comfort and joy to those who loved her most.
The family would like to thank Dr. Leslie Fecher and her team at U of M, especially nurse Heather, for their compassion and care during Jane’s battle with cancer. Deep thanks also go to the wonderful caregivers, servers, and kitchen staff at StoryPoint in Waterville, and to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their extraordinary support and kindness.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 15, at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary Street, Perrysburg. Visitation begins at 1 p.m., with a service at 4 p.m.
Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Condolences may be made online to the family at walkerfuner alhomes.com.
