James Lee Bucher died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on November 4, 2023, at the age of 78 years old. He was born in Toledo, to Clifford and Ruth (Karns) Bucher on November 15, 1944. He was raised in Whitehouse, graduating from Anthony Wayne High School in 1963.
Jim loved to play golf, bowl in his league, indulge his sweet tooth and go to the casino. He loved to travel, especially to Myrtle Beach, where he loved to watch the sunrise with his grandchildren. He was compassionate and loyal to his family. Lovingly, he cared for both his wives in their final journey here on earth.
For his entire career, more than 35 years, he used his talents as an electrician at Owens-Illinois in Perrysburg. You would often find him helping anyone who needed it with his handy skills.
His memory will be cherished by his children, Jeffrey (Gretchen) Bucher, Loriann Drown; grandchildren, Caleb, Chad, Joshua, Abigail; brother, Terry (Crystal) Bucher; nieces and nephew, Solita Paige Bucher, Jasmin LaGesse, Anthony Bucher, and many other family members and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Sharon Baker, Marie Wetmore; longtime companion, Jeanne Yeack, and brother, David Bucher.
A time of visiting and sharing memories will take place at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary in Perrysburg on Thursday, November 9, from 3 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to SouthernCare Hospice of Toledo.
