EDNA M. STEBBINS

Edna M. Stebbins, age 92, of Rossford, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Kingston Residence of Perrysburg. On July 24, 1929, she was born in Cincinnati, to Willard and Verda (Meyers) Marsh. At the age of 4 1/2 years, her parents were killed in a house fire and she was adopted by Lester and Florence Burkett. Edna later graduated from Gibsonburg High School. On December 25, 1949, she married James R. Stebbins in Gibsonburg. Edna and James raised five children and celebrated more than 45 years of marriage, before James passed on March of 1995.

In addition to being a homemaker, she was a charter member of Lutheran Church of the Master in Perrysburg. Her ministries included teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir and she was a member of the women’s group. Later she transferred her membership to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stony Ridge. In her spare time, she enjoyed vegetable gardening, canning, pickling and freezing her produce. Edna loved to bake Christmas cookies and made the most beautiful crochet items.

Edna is survived by her children, Nancy (Sandy) Pickett of Ocala, Florida; Bob (Joan) Stebbins of Brooklyn, Michigan; Mark (Linda Brashear) Stebbins of Hamilton, Ohio; Doug Stebbins of Petersburg, Michigan, and Sue (John) Kittle of Rossford; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. In addition to her husband, James, she was preceded in death by her parents, adopted parents, and siblings, Richard, Doris, Betty, Mabel, Al and Bill.

Friends and family were received 9 to 11 a.m., with a funeral service at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 9, at Marsh and Marsteller Funeral Home, 110 Main Street, Luckey. Edna was laid to rest next to James at a family committal service in Troy Township Cemetery, Luckey.
