David L. Sudman, 75, of Perrysburg, passed away on April 4, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Born to Howard and Martha Sudman in Celina, Ohio.

Dave spent his youth on the family farm in St. Marys, Ohio, and graduated from Shawnee High School. He attended the University of Cincinnati, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. He completed an internship with Sun Oil during college and was employed there upon his graduation until his retirement.

On an unusually sunny March day in 1969, Dave married Joanne (Holl) in Leipsic, Ohio, whom he cherished and loved until his death. Dave was an active member of Zoar Lutheran Church, Perrysburg, and was formerly a member at Calvary Lutheran Church, Northwood.

In retirement, Dave enjoyed part time employment at the Perrysburg Kroger, stocking shelves and making new friends. He was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and Perrysburg Christians United, a local foodbank.

His treasured role of fatherhood began with the birth of their only child, Laura (Thomas) Hood. He was the model of what a loving father should be. Dave was a very proud and loving grandfather to his three grandchildren, Allison, Lily and Samuel.

There will be no visitation or funeral, rather a private service later. Memorials may be given to: ALS of Northern Ohio, 6133 Rockside Road #301, Independence, Ohio 44131; Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 East River Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551, or Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 East Indiana, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551–designate ‘LED Sign Memorial’ in honor of Dave’s service of maintaining the outdoor sign.
