David Charles Marriott, age 65, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on November 24, 2021, in Perrysburg.

David was born February 14, 1956, in Toledo. His parents were James Guy and Rosemary (Werner) Marriott of Perrysburg. He was a lifelong resident of Perrysburg and attended Perrysburg High School, where he graduated in 1974.

He was an Eagle Scout and once hiked the Appalachian Trail. He enjoyed camping, working outdoors and spending time with family and friends. He was married 38 years to his best friend and wife, Lauren ∏ “Dolly” Marriott (Nyegard). He worked as the chief of maintenance at Fort Meigs State Memorial for 44 years.

David is survived by his three daughters, Peggy Jones-Griswold (Mike) of Pemberville, Suzanna Beard (Matt Brouillard) of Rossford, and Cheryl Pocino (Jason) of Perrysburg; seven grandchildren, who he greatly adored and know him as “Pa,” Alexandria (Seth), Nicholas (Caitlyn), Christopher, Zackary, Katie, Nikole and Jordan; three great-grandchildren, Noah, River and Maxwell; sister, Sharon Thomas (Charles); nephews, Charles (Nicole) and Jason (Mackenzey); niece, Stephanie; special friend, Julie “Jules” Johnson, and his dogs, Snoopy and Crocket. He also cherished his family at Fort Meigs, Ashley D., Ashley P., Bella, John and many others. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

A private service, celebrating his life, will be held by the family. A memorial dedication will be held at Fort Meigs at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Ohio History Connection.
