September 9, 1939 to January 1, 2024

Barbara was born to Oliver and Bessie Ziegman in St. John’s Hospital, Cleveland, and grew up in North Ridgeville, Ohio. Upon graduating from Elyria District Catholic High School, she went to Notre Dame College, Cleveland, where she obtained a bachelor of science in biology and chemistry. She was accepted at Fairview Park Hospital School of Medical Technology, and upon completion she became a registered medical technologist (ASCP), MT. She began her career at Mercy Hospital Toledo. After 46 years as an MT, she retired from Path-Labs.

Barbara married Roland Miller and moved to Toledo. They eventually moved to Perrysburg, where she resided for almost 50 years, until moving closer to her family last year in Carmel, Indiana. While in Perrysburg, she joined St. Rose Parish and was a member of the church’s Altar Rosary Sodality and Helping Hands. She enjoyed being a member of the Christian Seniors Interactive “CSI” group, taking part in activities at the Perrysburg Area Senior Center. During the past year, she enjoyed the friendships she made at the Barrington of Carmel with staff and new friends. Cooking, gardening, crafts and reading were her hobbies. She has been a friend of Bill since 1987.

Surviving is her son, Eric Miller (Jennifer); grandchildren, Maya and Darby; her brother, Robert Ziegman (Sunny); niece, Tina Turner, and nephew, Dennis Ziegman (Belinda). She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard; son, Randall, and former husband, Roland.

A time of visiting will be held on Saturday, January 13, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary, Perrysburg, with a Funeral Mass at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 East Front Street, Perrysburg, beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery.
