Alice Mae Brown, 87, of Bowling Green and formerly of Perrysburg, passed away on July 7, 2023. She was born on March 5, 1936, to the late Howard and Anna Mae (Voland) Kohl.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Tanya) Brown and Steve (Ruth) Brown; grandchildren, Krysteena, Jacob, Heather, Hailey, Jason, Dusten and Megan; great-grandchildren, Elsie, Amelia, Jalen, Rhyan, Hunter, Savannah, Sadie, Monroe, Remy, Clara and Easton, and brothers, Robert (Mary Anne) Kohl and John Kohl. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dale (Mary Ellen) Kohl; grandson, Jacob Lawrence, and her mother and father-in-law, LJ (Blanche) Brown.

Alice was a 1954 graduate of Perrysburg High School. She was a lifelong farmer and was passionate about the agriculture industry. Alice worked for Libby Owens Glass, Tiedtke’s, Dr. Roe’s dental office and Weston Hardware. She retired from the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) and was extremely

proud of the two times she was sent to Puerto Rico to help after a natural disaster. She enjoyed polka, square dancing, playing her accordion and organ. She also enjoyed playing cards, Bunco and Dominos.

Alice was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she helped with their food pantry, was the auditor and visited nursing homes weekly. She was the treasurer of her home owners association, sold tickets for the National Tractor Pull Championships and was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. Alice volunteered for the Wood County Fair, where she worked the admission gates and the livestock sale.

She met with her classmates once a month and was a part of the Saturday morning breakfast club. She was a diehard OSU Buckeyes fan and a huge supporter of Otsego Athletic Boosters, FFA and the music department. Above all, Alice loved being a grandma and greatgrandma. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Alice’s honor may be gifted to Trinity United Methodist Church.

Visitation was held Thursday, July 13, from 3 to 7 p.m., and Friday, July 14, from 10 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11 a.m., at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, 1460 West Wooster Street, Bowling Green. Burial immediately followed at Fort Meigs Cemetery, Perrysburg.
