Margaret “Midge” Ann Brossia Calevro Bellner passed away July 15, 2023, at the Manor of Perrysburg.
Midge was born October 5, 1931, at her parents home, to the late Henry J. and Marjory R. (Kopp) Brossia. She married Torino E. Calevro on October 27, 1951. He preceded her in death. From this blessed union, they had three children, Rebecca, Paul and James. She then married Robert J. Bellner and he preceded She attended Perrysburg High School, where she played bass drums in the marching band. After graduating, she played basketball and the team was the T.A.B.F. champions in 1951. Following in her oldest sister, Dorothy’s footsteps, she went to the School of Practical Nursing, graduating with high honors. She accepted a position with the Perrysburg Hospital as a practical nurse and later retired from Mercy Hospital. She was a faithful member of Zoar Lutheran Church her entire life, where she was a member of the Rachel Circle. She was a 61-year member of Lotus Chapter No. 477 Order of the Eastern Star.
After having children, she was a stay at home mom. She supported her children’s and grandchildren’s activities, from attending Paul and Jamey’s sporting events, being a cub scout leader, and Becky’s involvement with the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, by sitting on the board for Becky and her great-granddaughter, Madison.
She loved her family to the moon and back. Nothing brought her more joy than to be with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When you came to visit she always had a big smile and her arms outstretched to give you a hug.
She was the last surviving child and was preceded in death by her husbands; stepgranddaughter, Mikalya Angel; her parents, and siblings. Surviving Midge are her children, Rebecca Henderly (Greg Snyir), Paul Calevro (Melanie), James Calevro (Debra); grandchildren, Chad Henderly Sr., Paul Calevro Jr. (Tiffanie), James Calevro II, (Loren) Stephen Calevro (Kristen), Tiffany Calevro (Craig Miller), and great-grandchildren, Madison Henderly, Chad Henderly Jr., Jayson and Jacob Calevro, Emarae Calevro, Dominic Calevro, Cole Martin, Vincent Calevro and James Nathaniel Calevro. Also surviving is her childhood friend and beloved sister-in law, Betty Calevro.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 20, from 2 to 8 p.m., at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary, Perrysburg, with Eastern Star services at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be at Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 East Indiana Avenue, Perrysburg, with visitation Friday at 10 a.m., with the service following at 11 a.m., with Pastor Paul Reichert officiating. Interment will be at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Toledo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Zoar Lutheran Church.
