Ralph Robert Henry, age 67, of Oregon, is finally free of pain after a long battle with liver cancer. He went to be with his cats and parents in Heaven on June 14, 2023, at 11:03 p.m., in St. Vincent’s Hospital.
On November 4, 1955, Robert and Patricia Henry gave birth to twins at Jackson Hospital, Ralph at 8:30 a.m. and his brother, Mike, seven minutes later. Ralph attended a variety of schools and graduated from Adrian High School in 1973.
He was extremely diverse in careers, ranging from a bag boy at Farmer Jacks, chemical operator at Anderson Development and janitor at Sunshine Children’s Home, to working at Burger King, Arby’s and the Costume Shop. In his later years, he enjoyed going to his church, Zoar Lutheran, and volunteering at Paws and Whiskers. He loved being with his friends and family and gave his heart to his cats, T.J, Salem and Zeus. They were his children that he was so proud of.
Ralph also was a very talented artist. He would display his artwork in the Lucas County Fair and many other fairgrounds in the summer months. Those who knew him well, were given a piece of artwork as a Christmas gift. Ralph was a very giving person.
Family surviving Ralph are his twin, Mike (Diane) Henry; brother, Mark (Kathy) Henry; sister, Becky (Tim) Hague; fishing cousin, Karen Cole, and many other cousins, nieces and nephews. Ralph also is survived by his amazing friend, Jerry Rochte, who was always there for him along with the wonderful congregation of Zoar Lutheran Church.
A gathering in Ralph’s honor will be held on Saturday, July 1, at Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 East Indiana Avenue, Perrysburg, with visitation from 10 a.m. to noon, a funeral service at noon and a luncheon at 1 p.m.
Those wishing to donate in Ralph’s memory are asked to consider Zoar Lutheran Church.
