Perrysburg High School’s first football game with archadversary Maumee High School was played on a Friday afternoon, October 12, 1917. The game collapsed in the third quarter into an on field, whole-hog brawl. It was an accurate preview of a rivalry that extends to this day. Incidentally, MHS was winning 46-0.
