Peggy Jane Bennett, 73, of Perrysburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 15, 2026. She was welcomed into the arms of Jesus after a long and beautiful life.
Peggy was born on June 19, 1952, in Bluffton, Ohio, to Kenneth and Rhodora Hartman. As a child, she developed a deep love for Christ which continued into adulthood. She graduated from New Albany High School (1970) and earned a degree in elementary education from Bluffton College (1974). Peggy began her career as a teacher before devoting herself to raising her three children. She later began working in college admissions, where she worked until she retired.
Peggy married the love of her life, Gary Bennett, on August 16, 1975, in New Albany, Ohio. Together they built a home filled with love. Peggy was a devoted mother to three children, Melody (Leung), Mark Bennett and Matthew Bennett.
Peggy was a faithful servant of God who lived out her beliefs through acts of kindness and generosity.
Peggy regularly spent time with family, reading, playing games, cruising and spending winters in Florida.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Gary; her three children, Melody, Mark and Matthew (Sheila). She adored her six grandchildren, Ethan, Kelsie, Charlotte, Gracie, Joscelyn and McKenna. She also is survived by her mother, Rhodora, and siblings, Tom Hartman (Cheryl), Carol Roszman (Bob) and Fred Hartman (Lisa), as well as her extended family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Hartman.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Oak Bend Church in Perrysburg, on Saturday, May 30, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the new youth and children’s building project at Oak Bend Church.
