David Timothy “Dave” Zieman, 60, of Seattle, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026.

Dave was bom on November 22, 1965, to David W. and Judith A. (Botts) Zieman. He was raised with a strong work ethic and a deep curiosity about how mechanical things worked. He graduated from Anthony Wayne High School and went on to attend the Ohio State University, where he built the foundation for his lifelong career in aviation.

Dave married his great love, Helen (Jiyu Long) Zieman, and together they shared many joyful and adventurous years. During their marriage, they made their home both in China and in Washington state, embracing the opportunities and experiences of living abroad. They shared a love of travel and exploring new places together. Dave treasured the memories they created side by side.

Dave began his career with United Air Lines, where he gained valuable hands-on experience and deepened his knowledge of aircraft systems. He later continued his career at Boeing, earning the respect of colleagues through his dedication, technical skill and commitment to excellence. He took pride in contributing to the world of aviation and in being part of an industry that connects people across the globe.

Dave was a soft-spoken, dependable presence to those who knew him. He valued loyalty, hard work and time spent with family and friends. In his younger years, he enjoyed working on Jeeps and riding around with friends in an old AMC Gremlin. He had a quiet way of making people feel supported and appreciated, whether offering a helping hand or sharing stories about his latest motorcycle ride or mechanical project.

Outside of work, Dave loved motorcycles, aircraft and the outdoors. He enjoyed playing guitar and found relaxation and expression through music. He held fond memories of time spent in Germany and California, as well as attending the Isle of Man motorcycle race. These experiences reflected his love of travel, engineering and adventure. He found a deep sense of peace beneath the towering trees of the redwood forest and along the majestic California coast, where open roads and endless skies gave him a sense of freedom. He enjoyed riding both on-road and off-road vehicles, embracing the adventure of exploring new terrain.

His passion for engines and exploration was reflected in his independent spirit and his deep appreciation for craftsmanship, performance and the natural world.

Dave was a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

He is survived by his loving wife, Helen (Jiyu Long) Zieman; his brother, Todd (Lisa) Zieman, and many extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Zieman, and his parents.

Dave will be lovingly remembered and forever in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he find clear skies and open roads.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who supported and prayed for Dave during his illness.

A gathering in memory of David will be held in the future; details will be shared with family and friends.
