James “Jim” Richard Gregory, 76, passed away at his Perrysburg home on December 27, 2025. He was born on December 26, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, to Mildred M. (Cole) and James Henry Gregory.

Jim graduated from Perrysburg High School in 1968. He graduated from the University of Toledo with a bachelor of arts in education in 1972. Jim taught history and social studies at Anthony Wayne High School for 36 years, where he also coached baseball and basketball. As a younger adult, he was an avid bicycle rider who would always pull off the road to chat with a chanced-upon friend or acquaintance, of whom he had many. Jim was a Perrysburg resident since 1959. In later years, Jim often enjoyed a good cigar with his friends at the Maumee Cigar Affair.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents. He had no siblings and never married. He requested that no memorial services be held.
