Barbara Rae Reed (nee Pickering), age 97, died peacefully on August 8, 2025, at Otterbein Perrysburg. She was born in Cleveland, on September 18, 1927, to Richard H. and Elizabeth (Steele) Pickering. Barbara was the dearly beloved wife of Leroy “Roy” W. Reed for 73 years.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda L. (Thomas) Strauss of Oakland, California, and Nancy Oster of Perrysburg; her granddaughter, Allison R. (John ) Pittner; great-grandchildren, Brody Reed Pittner and Claire Elizabeth Pittner; former son-inlaw, Jeff Oster, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy; her sister, June A. Pleasnick McIntryre, and brother, Richard D. Pickering.

Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 South Reynolds Road, Toledo, on Sunday, August 17, from 1 to 4 p.m. Burial will be held on Monday, August 18, at Ohio Western Reserve Military Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Otterbein Perrysburg and Ashanti Hospice for their loving care of Barbara.
