Dorothy May (Cavacece) Pawlecki, age 81, of Perrysburg, passed away on May 17, 2025, at Hospice of NW Ohio. She was born on May 24, 1943, in Ludington, Michigan, to John and Rose Ann (Grobbel) Cavacece, who preceded her in death. She was a 1961 graduate of Cheboygan Catholic High School. Upon graduation, Dorothy was offered a job as a bookkeeper and moved to Toledo, where she met the love of her life, Henry. They were married on September 10, 1966.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Anne (Kyle) Vonderheide, Audrey (Scott) Boydston, Andrea Linne; grandchildren, Austin Cupp, Hunter Franklin, Alexis Franklin, Blake Boydston; sisters, Joanne Owens, Monica Feliciano; brother, John (Bonnie) Cavacece; sister-inlaw, Nancy Pawlecki, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; sisters, Catherine Ann and Patricia Cavacece, and her granddaughter, Katelyn Grace Boydston.
Dorothy gave up her career to raise her three daughters and found joy in running them to sporting events, serving as their Girl Scout leader and volunteering at their school.
Dorothy volunteered on the missions committee at Bethel Assembly of God and with anything else that was needed. She was the ultimate hostess and, coupled with her radiant smile and servant’s heart, she touched everyone she met. She brought hope to others, drawing them into genuine community, always guided by her deep love for Jesus Christ. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her church family, her children and her grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral and Celebration of Life service on Thursday, May 22, at 11 a.m., at Bethel Assembly of God, 665 West Indiana Avenue, Perrysburg. A meal at the church will immediately follow the service and the burial at Fort Meigs Memorial Cemetery.
