Carol Marie Vollmar, age 88, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away August 28, 2024. Carol was born on September 7, 1935, in Rossford, the daughter of the late John P. Rombach and Marie Kleinfeld Rombach. Carol grew up in Rossford and was a 1953 graduate of Rossford High School. Carol’s career started at Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass Company, Rossford, in the employment office. Carol continued her career as a branch manager at First Federal Savings and Loan, Perrysburg.
Carol and her husband moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, in 1981. She ended her career at the age of 80, working for Home Instead, as a caregiver. While there, she received many accolades including Care Giver of the Month and Care Giver of the Year. Her kind soul found comfort in helping others in need.
Carol’s time also was marked by her involvement in her church at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church in Phoenix, Arizona, where she was a Eucharistic Minister. Her infectious spirit and warm personality endeared her to many friends at the church.
Above all, what meant the most to Carol was spending quality family time with her three children, five grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Carol also was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Rombach, Richard Rombach and John P. Rombach Jr. Carol is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Vollmar Sr. (Scottsdale); her two daughters, Cherie Anderson (Goodyear, Arizona), Julie Brelsford (Phoenix), and her son, Ronnie Vollmar Jr. (Phoenix); five grandchildren, Joel (Shelly)Eckel, Cassie Eckel, Jordan (Ariel) Anderson, Joshua (Shelby) Anderson, Alex Vollmar (mother Diane Cyphers), and three great-grandchildren, Jude Anderson, Aubree Anderson and Lydia Tucker. In addition, Carol is survived by her brother, Robert Rombach.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 13, 10:30 a.m., at Saint Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 3801 East Greenwood Road, Phoenix, Arizona. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will immediately follow the Funeral Mass service at the church.
Burial will be Monday, September 16, 11 a.m., at Fort Meigs Cemetery, 620 West Indiana Avenue, Perrysburg, with Deacon Charles McDaniel of Saint Rose Catholic Church officiating. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be communicated at the gravesite, and will follow after the final committal.
