Dorothy J. Stock, age 94, of Perrysburg, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2024. A graduate of Rossford High School, Dorothy was a beloved member of the community. She married Thomas Wilson Stock on July 16, 1948, and the couple shared nearly 78 wonderful years of marriage.
Dorothy was a former member of Zoar Lutheran Church in Perrysburg and worked at the Perrysburg
Messenger Journal, where her outstanding ability to detail was highly valued. Dorothy had a zest for life and enjoyed various activities. She loved sewing and reading. Her hands were often seen busy making baby quilts for her grandchildren and family wedding dresses that are now keepsakes. Known as “The Pie Lady,” Dorothy had a special talent for baking excellent pies that were cherished by family and friends alike. She leaves behind not just memories but a legacy of love, warmth, and grace that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Tom; children, Dale (Christine) Stock, June (Daniel) Reitzel and Bill (Renee) Stock; six grandchildren, Rachel Stock, Ryan Stock, Kristie (Bob) Scoble, Mikayla Stock and Olivia Stock-Davis (Connor); great-grandchildren, Taylor, Madison, Ryleigh, Gracie, Karrington, Josh and Jaimie; and greatgreat- grandson, Lincoln. Dorothy is preceded in death by daughter, Janet Sumner; grandson, Daniel Reitzel, and seven siblings.
Family and friends visited from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 16. Interment followed at Highland Memory Gardens, Waterville. A luncheon was held at Zoar Lutheran church after the funeral.
