    Lisa Eileen Smith, 59, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on May 2, 2024, while under hospice care.

    She was born on August 6, 1964, in Perrysburg, the daughter of Robert Lee Smith and Thelma Eileen (Partee) Smith.

    Lisa graduated with a bachelor of science in English education from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green. She was awarded a master of arts in English, technical writing, from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland. She worked at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in assessments and accreditation, as an instructor of technical communications and as a government documents librarian. She worked at Davidson College, Davidson, North Carolina, in information technology services, as an assistant to the director of the library and as a coordinator of student computing services.

    Lisa married Moutaz Khouja, the love of her life, on November 18, 1989. She was the best of neighbors and collected and kept lifelong friends. She enjoyed entertaining, singing with the Choral Arts Society of Davidson, and taking long walks. She was devoted to her beloved cats and all animal causes.

    Lisa is survived by her husband; her father; brother, Philip (Karen) Smith, of Perrysburg, and her niece, Cath-erine Hann (James Quaintance), of Cincinnati. She was preceded in death by her mother and her brother, Gregory Smith.

    Lisa’s life will be honored at a memorial service at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 1, at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 871 East Boundary Street, Periysburg. Family will greet friends immediately after the service. Lisa will be laid to rest at a family committal service in Eisenhour Cemetery, Pemberville. Officiating will be Fr. Matthew Wahlgren.
