A union of Perrysburg Township and the City of Northwood’s dispatching service could be in the near future. At the February 21 meeting, the trustees authorized Fire Chief Tom Brice to continue negotiations with Northwood for dispatching.

“The state of the city is very good. It was good last year, and we have a lot we want to accomplish this year,” said Mayor Tom Mackin in his opening statement to the Perrysburg Rotary Club.

On February 23, Perrysburg Mayor Tom Mackin was sworn in as the 2024 chair of the Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments (TMACOG) board of trustees. Northwood Mayor Edward Schimmel will serve as vice chair.

Three Perrysburg High School students will be honored at the 62nd National Football Foundation’s Scholar-Athlete banquet. They are: Andrew Boden, Gavin Fenneken and Nick Oros.

The LivelyU Lifelong Learning Academy is a platform of programming offered through the Wood County Committee on Aging, Inc. (WCCOA) in partnership with the Bowling Green State University (BGSU) Optimal Aging Institute. The Academy is designed to enhance programming with opportunities for lifelong learning.

A routine traffic stop on Valentine’s Day turned into a heart-felt rescue for a woman and her family who had reported her missing. Wood County sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle in Cygnet at 12:20 p.m. last Wednesday for a traffic violation.
