Dear Editor: I am writing in regard to the potential rezoning of the northwest corner of Sandusky and East Fifth streets. Developers, Scott Anderson and Aaron Schoen have requested this land parcel be rezoned from single-family to multi-family homes.

Sheriff reminds motorists to drive cautiously in fog

The recent unusual foggy weather prompted the Wood County sheriff’s office to remind motorists to use caution when driving in inclement conditions. Fog can be one of the most dangerous weather conditions for both new and experienced drivers, he explained.

Revitalization open house invites community comments

On January 31, more than 100 local residents attended an open house to learn more about the city’s plans to rejuvenate downtown Perrysburg. Visitors were invited to view concept art of the construction plans, ask questions of city officials and engineers involved in the project and see examples of current issues in the downtown.

NWSD receives financial reporting recognition

The Northwestern Water and Sewer District is the proud recipient of the certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting by Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its annual comprehensive financial report. This marks the 20th consecutive year the district has received the GFOA award.

Perrysburg schools will host tours of its four elementary school facilities in February. Turnpike sets record for vehicle miles traveled

The Ohio Turnpike’s passenger car and commercial truck customers traveled a record 3,131,669,772 miles, up 2.2 percent in 2023 compared to 3,063,794,240 miles in 2022. Separately, passenger car customers traveled 1,936,873,837 miles, up 5.2 percent in 2023 compared to 1,841,860,120 miles in 2022; and commercial truck customers traveled 1,194,795,935 miles, down 2.2 percent from a record 1,221,934,120 miles traveled in 2022.

Twp. zoning commission reviews zoning request

At the January 8 meeting, the Perrysburg Township zoning commission reviewed a zoning request for four parcels at Avenue and Ayers roads. Latty LLC submitted a request to rezone four parcels from R-3 suburban residential medium density to R-4A suburban residential high density.
