The Ohio House of Representatives recently passed Substitute House Bill 2, which will allocate $350 million in one-time project funding from the Strategic Community Investment Fund. This funding will be administered to statewide, regional, and local projects, $15 million of which will directly serve Wood and Lucas counties and the surrounding communities.

Sharon Moenter a representative for Women of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pemberville, brought in items to benefit Hannah’s Socks, a community based non-profit organization dedicated to helping people affected by homelessness, poverty and domestic abuse in Ohio and Southeast Michigan. Hannah’s Socks collects and donates new socks to those in need through shelter homes, schools and direct distribution.

The Country Garden Club of Perrysburg will host a public lecture featuring speaker Kathleen Biggins, co-founder of C-Change Conversations. The lecture will be held Wednesday, April 24, 7 p.m., at the Owens Community College Center for Fine and Performing Arts, 7270 Biniker Road, Perrysburg.
