Kingston plans parking lot party fundraiser

Kingston Residence of Perrysburg will host a parking lot party fund-raiser, on Wednesday, September 20, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., at 333 East Boundary Street. All proceeds will benefit the Walk to End Alzheimer’s drive.

Perrysburg Christians United to hold blood drive

Perrysburg Christians United (PCU) will host a blood drive on Friday, September 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Zoar Lutheran Church. Donors must be at least 17 years of age, 110 pounds and in general good health.

‘Over the Edge for Victory’ fund-raising event set for Sept.

The Victory Center, an organization that provides wellness services to cancer patients and their families, has set the date and plans for their seventh annual fund-raising event, “Over the Edge for Victory,” presented by ThermaTru. The event will begin on Thursday, September 7, where individuals will be able to meet various attendees who plan to rappel down the side of the 16-story skyscraper at 300 Madison Avenue.

180th Fighter Wing to host 5K run/walk

The 180th Fighter Wing will host the second annual Stinger 5K run/walk at the 180th Fighter Wing, 660 Eber Road, Swanton, at 9 a.m., Sunday, September 10. The one-of-a-kind event features a route that includes a start/finish at the 9/11 Memorial, running past the fighter wing flightline, down the taxiway and runway.

Wood County Educational Service Center to host ‘Parent Project’ classes for parents raising teens starting September 6

The Wood County Educational Service Center is hosting the Parent Project, a series of classes designed to help ensure parents are equipped with skills and support necessary to be effective and intelligent parents to their teenage children. The classes will teach parents effective communication strategies and other helpful parenting skills, as well as awareness and assistance with teenagers with various issues, including adolescent depression, emotional and mental trauma, academic struggles and drug and alcohol use, among others.
