Non profit organizer found guilty of multiple charges

On August 11, a Wood County jury convicted a local non profit organizer on multiple charges. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and Wood County Prosecutor Paul Dobson said the case was successfully prosecuted against Linda Greene, 72, the former CEO of the international charity organization Impact with Hope, formerly ISOH/IMPACT.

HOOVES to hold family event Aug. 26

HOOVES, a private, donor-supported charity, is hosting a family event from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, August 26, at their facility, 4055 Wilkins Road, Swanton. The family event features a free open house with a donation per vehicle encouraged.

St. Rose announces free and reduced lunch program

St. Rose Catholic School has released information about its 2023-2024 program year policy for free and reduced lunches for students unable to pay the full price of meals or milk served under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast, After School Care Snack or Special Milk Programs. The school office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any interested party.

Great Lakes Community Action Partnership offers water bill assistance

The Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) continues to offer various utility-related assistance in Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca and Wood counties. GLCAP’s Summer Crisis Program provides utility bill assistance, central air repairs or air conditioning units or fans to qualifying households.

St. Clare Commons celebrates decade of service

On August 10, St. Clare Commons, CHI Living Communities, celebrated its 10th anniversary. The event featured a reception, fellowship and tours of the facility. “It’s a true pleasure for us to serve residents in the community,” said Sarah Marsh, executive director.

Open house held at the District August 15

The Northwestern Water and Sewer District hosted a free open house on August 15. Open to the public, the event featured pony rides, a rock climbing wall, inflatable bounce house, farmyard petting zoo, educational demonstrations and tours, fishing in the district’s pond and free meals for visitors. Located at 12560 Middleton Pike, the NWSD provides 20,000 customers with water and waste water treatment services.
