Fall colors have arrived

Workshop for caregivers to connect with area resources set for Oct. 11

The Neighborhood Health Association (NHA) will hold a free workshop designed to support grandparents and other kinship caregivers on Wednesday, October 11. The program entitled “Superheroes Need Support, Too: A Resource Workshop for Grandparents and Kinship Caregivers Raising Children” will run from 9 a.m.

Ciderfest to be held Oct. 6

Toledo Night Market will present the second annual Ciderfest419 from 6 to 10 p.m., Friday, October, 6, at the Ribbon at Glass City Metropark, 1505 Front Street, Toledo. Ciderfest419 will feature ample tastings of hard cider, mead, wine and craft beer, as well as a concert by the Marty Ray Project, an Indie band, and dancing with Urban Cowboy Line Dancing, both visiting Toledo for the first time from Nashville.

Mercy offers mobile mammograms in Oct.

Mercy Health’s mobile mammography unit has visits scheduled throughout the region in October. The mobile mammography unit is customized for patient convenience and will deliver 3D mammograms to women age 40 and older.

Hospice of Northwest Ohio seeking volunteers

Hospice of Northwest Ohio has an immediate need for licensed hairdressers or those who can sew, and volunteer their skills to meet the needs of hospice patients and families. Hair care volunteers are needed for basic haircuts for patients throughout Wood, Lucas, Fulton, Henry, Ottawa and Monroe counties.

Annual German‐American ‘Story Slam’ slated for October 11 in BG

The 20th annual German-American “Story Slam” is set for Wednesday, October 11, at 7 p.m., at the Wood County Museum, 13660 County Home Road, Bowling Green. A brief introductory program will be given by retired Bowling Green State University professor, Geoff Howes, on the topic of Bowling Green’s 1889 German language newspaper, Die Post followed by a shared information time.

Twp. fire dept. to host open house

The Perrysburg Township Fire Department, 26711 Lime City Road, will host an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, October 7, with the maintenance and police departments.
